Salkum, WA – May 11, 2025 – One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision near Salkum on Sunday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on U.S. Highway 12. A 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, traveling eastbound on the highway, slowed down to make a left turn when it was rear-ended by a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. The driver of the 2003 Ford was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital with major injuries. Fortunately, the two occupants of the other vehicle were not injured . Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.
