1 Killed, Several Hurt after Chase and Crash near Randolph Street and Eastern Avenue in Commerce
Commerce, CA. – A high-speed police chase ended in tragedy on Saturday night in Commerce, where one person was killed, and several others were injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident began shortly after 11 p.m. on February 22 when authorities attempted to stop a driver traveling the wrong way in the area of Eastern and Florence Avenues. Instead of complying, the suspect fled, initiating a pursuit with CHP officers.
The chase came to a violent end when the suspect crashed into a second vehicle at Randolph Street and Eastern Avenue. In the process, the suspect also struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk and slammed into a bus stop.
