Alameda, CA – Karen Conway Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash on Ralph Appezzato Memorial Pkwy
Alameda, CA (January 2025) – Karen Conway, a 59-year-old Alameda resident, was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Wednesday evening, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.
The tragic accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Coral Sea Street. Alameda police reported that Conway was in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a car turning westbound onto the parkway.
Emergency responders transported Conway to a nearby hospital for treatment, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver, a 70-year-old Alameda man, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities as they continue investigating the incident.
