September 30, 2025 – South Houston, TX. – A man was critically injured early Monday after crashing his vehicle into a tattoo shop while fleeing from police in South Houston, according to Pasadena Police Department officials. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. near 11 Spencer Highway, after officers spotted a reckless driver in the area of Shaver and Spencer Highway. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away at a high rate of speed. During the pursuit, the driver lost control and crashed into the side of a tattoo shop, smashing through a brick wall and rupturing the building’s water lines. The vehicle became lodged inside the structure. South Houston Fire Department crews responded and required a wrecker to remove the car before beginning extrication. It took approximately 30–40 minutes to free the driver, who was then transported by PRI EMS to the Texas Medical Center with critical injuries. Authorities are investigating whether impairment played a role in the crash and why the suspect fled from officers.
