Madera County, CA, June 30 – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday night at an intersection in Madera County. According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was 18-year-old Esmeralda Marcela Gutierrez of Madera. The crash occurred at approximately 9:46 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 17 and Road 28 1/2. Investigators said Gutierrez was driving a white 2018 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Avenue 17 when she failed to stop at a stop sign. The Malibu entered the intersection and collided with the right side of a black 2019 Jeep Wrangler traveling southbound on Road 28 1/2. The force of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a nearby home. The vehicles then struck a parked vehicle and a support beam of the residence.
