Houston, TX, June 26, 2025 – A man in his late 30s to early 40s was shot early Saturday morning in a downtown Houston street altercation that ended with the suspects fleeing the scene on electric scooters, according to the Houston Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. near 900 St. Emanuel Street and Walker Street, in a busy entertainment area. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Initial reports indicate the shooting followed a verbal and physical confrontation between the victim and three unknown suspects. After the altercation, the suspects fled the scene on scooters. Police quickly located and detained all three individuals nearby, with one suspect taken into custody in the 1100 block of Chartres Street. The victim told investigators he did not know the suspects and had been at a nearby venue before the altercation occurred.
