HOUSTON, TX, July 24, 2025 – A 19-year-old man was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after being shot during a confrontation sparked by a dispute involving his girlfriend, according to the Houston Police Department. The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the 1600 block of Allen Parkway, in the vicinity of Tinsley Park, where a group of people had gathered in a nearby parking lot. Authorities say the victim’s girlfriend got into a verbal disturbance with others in the group, which escalated. During the altercation, a young male suspect reportedly shot the victim in the chest before fleeing the area in what may have been a truck. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital and is expected to survive. No other injuries were reported.
