Kennewick, WA – May 14, 2025 – One person was hospitalized following a collision involving a school bus in Kennewick on Wednesday morning, according to the Kennewick Police Department. The accident occurred at the intersection of W 10th Avenue and W Clearwater Avenue. Authorities reported that a passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on W Clearwater Avenue when it struck a Kennewick School District bus attempting to make a turn from W 10th Avenue onto W Clearwater Avenue. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the driver of the passenger vehicle to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. The driver was reported to be in stable condition. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the students who were on board the school bus at the time of the crash. School officials and first responders ensured the students were evaluated and safely transported from the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No citations have been issued at this time, and authorities are working to determine whether speed, distraction, or failure to yield played a role in the collision.
Kennewick, WA – One Injured in School Bus Collision at W 10th and W Clearwater Avenues
On May 15, 2025, a collision involving a school bus and a pickup truck occurred at the intersection of W 10th Avenue and W Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick, Washington. The incident took place just east of the Badger Road roundabout. According to the Kennewick Police Department, the school bus was making a left turn from 10th Avenue onto Clearwater Avenue when it was struck by the pickup truck. There were children on the bus at the time of the crash; fortunately, none were seriously injured. Paramedics evaluated all the children at the scene before they were picked up by another school bus to complete their trip home.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Kennewick Police Department is investigating the cause of the collision
