September 16, 2025 – Bakersfield, CA. – A deadly single-vehicle crash claimed one life early Tuesday morning on Highway 99 in Bakersfield. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 3:14 a.m. north of Panama Lane. A white 2019 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound veered off the roadway for unknown reasons, striking an iron rod fence before crashing into two trees. Tragically, a male passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 99 near Panama Lane in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at around 3:15 a.m. when a white Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on Highway 99, for reasons still under investigation, veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, leaving the driver with fatal injuries. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. Authorities temporarily closed lanes while investigating the cause of the crash.
