Phoenix, AZ – May 14, 2025 – A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Osborn Road. Authorities say the man was attempting to cross the roadway mid-block when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead . The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing. Police are reminding the public of the dangers of crossing busy roads outside of designated crosswalks and urging drivers to remain vigilant, especially at night. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of the next of kin.
