Pedestrian Killed in DUI Crash at Highway 116 and Armstrong Woods Road
Guerneville, CA – May 5 — A pedestrian died after being struck by a suspected impaired driver at an intersection in Guerneville on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Armstrong Woods Road and Highway 116. Investigators said a Dodge Ram travelling northbound on First Street turned left onto Highway 116 and hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. Authorities noted that the pedestrian crosswalk signal had been activated before the crash occurred. The victim suffered major injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The pedestrian later died Tuesday night. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
