Vista, CA (October 22, 2025) – A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday evening following a collision with an SUV on North Melrose Drive in Vista, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. The fatal crash occurred around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of North Melrose Drive near Dove Circle. Authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Melrose Drive when he collided with an SUV that was entering the roadway from Dove Circle. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released, and the incident remains under investigation.

According to officials, the rider was traveling northbound on North Melrose Drive when an SUV merged onto the roadway westbound from Dove Circle. The motorcyclist attempted to evade the vehicle but ultimately collided with it and was thrown from the bike, landing along the curb of the southbound lane.
Emergency responders, including the Vista Fire Department, arrived on-scene and provided CPR, but the rider was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter
