Livermore, CA, July 15, 2025– The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has identified the innocent victim killed in Tuesday’s tragic crash on Highway 84 as Ryan Joshua Aquino Amigable, a resident of Oakley. The fatal head-on collision occurred at approximately 6:19 p.m. on eastbound Highway 84, just west of Ruby Hill Drive and about three miles east of the 680 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Amigable was traveling eastbound in a Honda Civic when a Lexus IS 250, heading westbound, suddenly veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with his vehicle. Investigators believe the Lexus was street racing with a white 2015 or 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck, which fled the scene after the crash.CHP stated that the Lexus driver lost control for an unknown reason during the suspected illegal race, leading to the deadly impact. Amigable was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to Washington Hospital in Fremont and Regional Medical Center in San Jose, respectively. Their conditions remain undisclosed.
