Moses Lake, WA, June 13, 2025 – Two people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle chain-reaction collision that occurred Friday evening on State Route 17 in Grant County, just south of Moses Lake. According to a statement from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident involved three vehicles and resulted in injuries to 72-year-old Serafin Corona and 58-year-old Angela Hernandez-Espinoza. The crash was reported at approximately 5:20 p.m. on June 13. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2002 Toyota Corolla, driven by 17-year-old Gideon E. Tuller of Moses Lake, was traveling northbound on State Route 17 when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Corona. The impact caused Corona’s car to lurch forward and crash into the back of a third vehicle—a station wagon—driven by 63-year-old Jose Espinoza of Moses Lake . Authorities noted that Tuller’s failure to maintain a safe following distance was a primary factor in the crash. WSP cited him for following too closely and not reducing his speed to avoid a collision.
