The accident occurred on Highway 26 near Hogan Dam Road under circumstances that remain unclear. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and both drivers sustained injuries. Emergency responders transported the injured parties to local hospitals. Their current conditions have not been disclosed . Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

On the evening of May 13, 2025, a serious head-on collision occurred on Highway 26 near Hogan Dam Road in Valley Springs, California. The crash involved a motorcycle and a minivan, resulting in two individuals being transported to the hospital. The motorcyclist, 35-year-old Ronald Reece of Stockton, was unable to navigate a curve and collided with a 2017 Chrysler Voyager minivan driven by 36-year-old Matthew Correa of Valley Springs. Reece was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered major injuries; he was airlifted to a Valley trauma center for treatment. Correa was not reported to have sustained injuries in the crash.
