Wife of Riverside County Man Convicted in Toddler’s Death Set for Preliminary Hearing
Riverside, CA – May 28 — The wife of a Riverside County man previously convicted in the death of their infant son is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a preliminary hearing to determine whether she will stand trial on a murder charge. Prosecutors said 42-year-old Rebecca Renee Haro faces charges of murder and filing a false police report in connection with the death of her 7-month-old son, known publicly as “Baby Emmanuel,” in Cabazon in August. Authorities allege Haro conspired with her husband, 33-year-old Jake Mitchell Haro, in the child’s death. Court records show Jake Mitchell Haro pleaded guilty in October to second-degree murder, child assault, and filing a false police report. He was later sentenced in November to 32 years to life in state prison.
