Woman Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Walnut and Cedar Streets
North Berkeley, CA –December 29 – An elderly woman sustained major injuries in an auto-pedestrian collision Monday evening in North Berkeley, according to the Berkeley Police Department. The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on December 29, 2025, at the intersection of Walnut Street and Cedar Street. Officers who responded to the scene determined that a 95-year-old woman was struck while walking in a marked crosswalk on the west side of the intersection . Police said the driver was attempting to make a left turn from Walnut Street onto Cedar Street when the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The woman was briefly unconscious but regained consciousness at the scene. Berkeley Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to Highland Hospital, where she was treated for critical injuries. The driver, described as a man in his 30s, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities stated that impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the collision.
