Lost Hills, CA – Several people were injured in a car accident that occurred Sunday evening in Lost Hills, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident took place around 8:16 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of the Twisselman Road off-ramp. A silver Toyota and a black SUV were involved in the crash. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and evaluated the parties involved in the accident. Fortunately, only minor injuries were sustained, and several passengers were taken to the hospital for further medical aid. CHP officers are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.

On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 7:24 a.m., a tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Twisselman Road in Lost Hills, California. The accident involved a 2008 International semi-truck, a 2023 Dodge Caravan, and a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The semi-truck, traveling at approximately 60 mph, failed to notice the slower-moving vehicles ahead and collided with the rear of the Pathfinder, which was being towed by the Caravan at around 30 mph. The impact caused the Pathfinder to veer off the roadway, crash into a barbed wire fence, and overturn on a dirt embankment. Subsequently, the semi-truck also struck the rear of the Caravan. A 45-year-old woman, a passenger in the Pathfinder, was ejected from the vehicle and tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A one-year-old child in the same vehicle sustained major injuries and was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment. Reports indicate that neither the woman nor the child were properly secured in the vehicle at the time of the crash
