South Prairie, WA, November 4, 2025 – Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a 41-year-old Covington woman on Tuesday evening in Pierce County. According to a report from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the collision occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m. on State Route 162, just west of Lower Burnett Road. The woman was walking in the eastbound lane of SR 162 when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly but pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Authorities confirmed that the driver involved stopped immediately and cooperated with investigators. The WSP continues to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
