41-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on East Gila Ridge Road in Yuma
Yuma, AZ – A 41-year-old male motorcyclist lost his life following a traffic collision on Monday morning, according to the Yuma Police Department. The fatal crash occurred at around 10:41 a.m. on February 17 in the 6400 block of East Gila Ridge Road .Reports indicate that the deceased was riding a westbound 2008 Yamaha V Star motorcycle when he attempted to pass two vehicles in the area. Ahead of him, a 58-year-old man was operating a 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer westbound on the roadway. As the truck driver made a left turn into a business, the motorcycle collided with the vehicle. The rider was transported to Onvida Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities stated that speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash.The identity of the victim has not yet been released
