Yuma, AZ – A 47-year-old woman lost her life in a pedestrian accident early this morning at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 8th Street, according to the Yuma Police Department. The crash occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. when a 71-year-old man driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma struck the woman as she was crossing 8th Street in the crosswalk. Paramedics from the Yuma Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene  . Authorities stated that neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be contributing factors. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
