Long Beach, CA – May 13, 2025 – Authorities are investigating a fatal collision that took place on the 91 Freeway in Long Beach late Monday night. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on May 12, near Cherry Avenue. The two-car accident happened on the eastbound side of the freeway. Reports indicate that one of the individuals involved in the crash was ejected from their vehicle and was found on the opposite side of the freeway. The CHP confirmed that at least one person was killed in the accident. Multiple eastbound and westbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene and cleared debris.
