Bicyclist Fatally Struck in Early Morning Crash at Pacific Beach Intersection
Pacific Beach, CA – March 10 – A bicyclist was killed early Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle at a Pacific Beach intersection, according to the San Diego Police Department. Authorities reported that the crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Fanuel Street and Grand Avenue. Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a bicyclist and a sedan. Preliminary information indicates the cyclist, an adult male, was riding south on Fanuel Street and was attempting to turn right onto westbound Grand Avenue when the crash occurred. At the same time, a sedan traveling west along Grand Avenue approached the intersection and struck the bicyclist. Investigators have not yet determined whether the bicyclist or the driver had the right-of-way at the time of the collision. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
