Chula Vista, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Car Accident on Third Avenue
Chula Vista, CA (January 21, 2025) – A 42-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Chula Vista on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Third Avenue and Palomar Street. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the man was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a 2012 silver Nissan Leaf traveling south on Third Avenue. At the time of the accident, the pedestrian was crossing against a red hand signal.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the man suffering from significant injuries. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The 23-year-old woman driving the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
