Cyclist Killed in Collision with Transit Bus on Green Hill Drive in Castaic
Castaic, CA – March 11 – A bicyclist died Wednesday morning after being struck by a transit bus along Green Hill Drive in Castaic, according to the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office. Authorities reported that the crash occurred at approximately 7:35 a.m. in the 32184 block of Green Hill Drive, between Royal Road and Pinto Place. Preliminary information indicates that a man in his 60s was riding a bicycle in the area when he was struck by a Santa Clarita Transit bus. The circumstances leading up to the collision were not immediately clear. Emergency crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene to assist. Despite their efforts, the cyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the location of the crash. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity as they work to notify family members.
