Dong Shan Ma and Mason Ryan Killed in Crash on Highway 101 in Camarillo
Camarillo, CA. – The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Dong Shan Ma and Mason W. Ryan as the two men who died in a car crash on Highway 101 in Camarillo last week. The fatal accident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Monday, March 17, on northbound Highway 101 near Carmen Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, Ma and Ryan, both 21-year-old residents of Goleta, were inside a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta that was stopped in the highway’s center median when a 2015 Ford Mustang struck their vehicle from behind. The impact caused the Jetta to burst into flames. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but both men died from their injuries. The medical examiner’s office reported that Ma suffered blunt-force head and chest trauma, while Ryan succumbed to inhalation of combustion products and thermal injuries. Their deaths were ruled accidental.
