Douglas County, WA – Seven Killed, Several Hospitalized in Head-On Crash on Highway 28
Douglas County, WA – Authorities have identified the seven victims killed in a devastating head-on collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on State Route 28 near Rock Island Dam Road. According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m. on February 9. A 17-year-old girl from East Wenatchee was driving a westbound 2007 Toyota Camry when she attempted to pass a Chevrolet Traverse. The Camry then collided head-on with a passenger bus before also striking the Traverse .The crash claimed the lives of the Camry driver and her 17-year-old male passenger, as well as the 66-year-old bus driver from Spokane and a bus passenger whose details have not yet been released. Three of the victims died at the scene, while one succumbed to injuries at Confluence Health Hospital .The deceased victims have been identified as Amy Baltazar Torres, 29, of Othello; Carolyn Ferguson, 60, of Spokane; Marco Gomez, 24, of Seattle; Kaci Glismann, 26, of Spokane; Shannon McBride, 59, of Grandville, Idaho; Clyde Ring, 39, of Spokane; and Maria Santos, 71, of Quincy.
