Driver Dies in Big Rig Accident on Highway 99W in Red Bluff
Red Bluff, CA , May 1, 2025– A fatal collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle occurred Thursday morning in Red Bluff, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.]The crash was reported at approximately 8:53 a.m. on Highway 99W near Riverside Avenue.According to authorities, a white Lexus ES300 was traveling northbound when it unexpectedly drifted into the southbound lane. The Lexus collided with the left-rear wheels and axles of a big rig’s trailer traveling in the opposite direction.Emergency personnel from the Redding Communications Center responded to the crash site. The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual involved sustained injuries and was treated, though further details on their condition were not immediately released.The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
