Reedley, CA,June 5, 2025 – Efrain Lara Jr., 28, of Farmersville, was identified as the man who tragically lost his life in a car accident near Reedley on Thursday morning, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The collision occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on June 5 at the intersection of American and Buttonwillow avenues. Reports indicate that a Reedley woman was driving a Toyota Prius on American Avenue when she attempted to make a left turn onto Buttonwillow Avenue and collided with a Honda Accord traveling along Buttonwillow Avenue. Lara was the driver of the Honda Accord and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Prius was airlifted to a hospital with injuries that have not been specified. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

On Thursday morning, June 5, 2025, a tragic two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of American and Buttonwillow Avenues, just north of Reedley in Fresno County. At approximately 6:49 a.m., a woman driving a Toyota Prius pulled out in front of a northbound white sedan on Buttonwillow Avenue, resulting in a collision. The driver of the sedan, 28-year-old Efrain Lara Jr. of Farmersville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman in the Prius was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno with serious injuries. No other individuals were involved in the crash. Authorities have stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
