Hemet, CA – March 19, 2025 – An 81-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Hemet, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The fatal collision occurred just after 7 a.m. on Standford Street near Johnson Avenue. Authorities say the elderly woman was walking in the traffic lanes when she was hit by a Chrysler 300 under unclear circumstances.

Emergency responders from the Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The driver, a 38-year-old Hemet man, remained at the scene and was detained for questioning. Authorities have not made any arrests, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
