Sacramento, CA (January 21, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Tuesday morning in Elk Grove, resulting in the death of one person.
At approximately 8:31 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a crash on northbound Interstate 5 south of Twin Cities Road. A sedan collided with a big rig that was stopped on the right-hand shoulder. Following the impact, both the sedan and the big rig’s trailer caught fire.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the big rig was unharmed. It is unclear whether the big rig driver was inside the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. Further details have not been released.
