Menifee, CA, November 4, 2025 – Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on the Interstate 215 Freeway in Menifee, leaving one man dead. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred around 1:29 a.m. south of McCall Boulevard when 45-year-old Geoff Bishop, a Menifee resident, was walking in the No. 1 southbound lane. A Mercedes E350 traveling in the same direction struck Bishop . Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but pronounced Bishop dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash, including why the pedestrian was on the freeway at that hour.

Geoff Bishop, age 45 and a resident of Menifee, was fatally struck early Monday morning on the southbound lanes of Interstate 215, approximately 0.26 miles south of the McCall Boulevard off-ramp. The fatal injury occurred at around 1:28 a.m., and the Riverside County Coroner’s office reported his official time of death as 1:39 a.m.According to the investigation, Bishop was walking in the No. 1 (fast) lane of the freeway when he was struck by a Mercedes E350.
