Jennifer Lourenco Killed in Turlock Car Crash on Highway 165 near Greenway Avenue
Turlock, CA – A devastating crash on Sunday morning in Turlock has left four people dead and two others critically injured. The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Highway 165 near Greenway Avenue. Authorities say 22-year-old Uriel Guizar Negrete, driving an Infiniti at a high rate of speed, collided with a Jeep driven by 44-year-old Daniel Lourenco. Both drivers were killed in the crash.
Jennifer Lourenco, a 45-year-old teacher at Ceres Unified School District, was in the front passenger seat of the Jeep and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter, 16-year-old Madelynn Lourenco, a student at Pittman High School, was transported to a local hospital but later died from her injuries. Two others, a 19-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, both from Turlock, remain hospitalized in critical condition. The family had been on their way to church when the crash occurred. All passengers in the Jeep were wearing their seatbelts.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
