Lakeside, CA,July 16, 2023 – A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic multi-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning on State Route 67, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal incident was reported at approximately 1:00 a.m. on SR-67 near Willow Road. Authorities stated that two motorcycles and a third vehicle were involved in the collision. Emergency crews from the Lakeside Fire Protection District responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported. One of the motorcycle riders succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. The identity of the deceased victim has not yet been released. It remains unclear whether any other individuals were injured in the accident. CHP is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Motorcyclist Killed in Solo Crash on SR-67 in Lakeside
On July 16, 2023, a tragic solo motorcycle accident occurred on northbound State Route 67 near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road in Lakeside, California. The rider, identified as 65-year-old Stephen John Corbin of Yucca Valley, was traveling on his 2022 Harley-Davidson when, for reasons still under investigation, he veered off the roadway and struck a concrete curb. The impact caused him to be ejected from the motorcycle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol responded promptly to the incident, closing both northbound lanes of SR-67 to facilitate the investigation and emergency response. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Corbin died from multiple blunt-force injuries.
