Officers Struggle with Unruly Suspect During Birthday Party in Historic South Central
Los Angeles, CA, June 1, 2025– A chaotic scene unfolded early Sunday morning during a birthday party in the Historic South Central neighborhood, where LAPD officers were forced to call for backup while struggling to detain an uncooperative suspect. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Hill Street. Police had responded to the party, and during their intervention, a female suspect became combative with officers. According to reports, the woman’s top and bra were dislodged during the altercation. A help call was issued as officers worked to gain control of the situation. A large crowd was evacuated from the building, and tensions rose as some attendees mocked the officers. Despite the disruption, LAPD maintained composure and managed the scene with crowd control measures. At least two other individuals were transported from the scene by LAFD ambulances. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
