Downtown Los Angeles, CA – June 15, 2025 – The Los Angeles Police Department arrested several individuals early Sunday morning following a pursuit involving curfew violators in Downtown Los Angeles. The incident began around 12:30 a.m. near 3rd Street and Los Angeles Street, when officers observed a group of approximately five protesters refusing to disperse as required under the city’s overnight curfew orders. The individuals reportedly fled on foot, leading LAPD units to a parking structure south of 3rd Street along Los Angeles Street. An LAPD transport bus arrived at the location as officers coordinated their response. Although initial reports suggest some individuals may have temporarily evaded capture, many protesters were ultimately detained for curfew violations. The precise motive behind the protest remains unclear, though recent demonstrations in the area have involved political activism, social justice, and opposition to law enforcement policies.
Los Angeles, CA – Following several nights of intense anti‑ICE protests in downtown Los Angeles, police enforcement of curfew rules escalated on the evening of June 10, 2025. By Thursday night, officers had arrested dozens of individuals—including one group who fled on foot and were apprehended after a brief pursuit—for defying dispersal orders and violating curfew regulations.
Law enforcement deployed crowd control measures such as flash‑bangs and mounted officers to disperse protesters. Over 200 individuals were arrested across curfew enforcement nights, with most charges related to unlawful assembly and curfew infractions. The downtown curfew, aimed at curbing night‑time violence and looting, was later lifted on June 17 after Mayor Karen Bass declared it largely successful
