Riverside, CA (January 17, 2025) – A devastating collision on Wednesday afternoon resulted in the death of 40-year-old Nicholas Pitcock after his electric scooter was struck by a vehicle.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened at approximately 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of La Sierra Avenue and Spaulding Drive. Pitcock, a Riverside resident, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of La Sierra Avenue on an electric scooter when he was hit head-on by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old woman.

Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported Pitcock to Riverside Community Hospital for urgent medical care. Despite their efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The driver involved remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is actively examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
