Santa Barbara, CA – Six Injured After Van Crashes Into Vehicles on Stearns Wharf
Santa Barbara, CA (January 14, 2025) – Six people were hospitalized following a chaotic traffic collision involving a delivery van on Saturday afternoon, January 11, near the end of Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara.
According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. when a white delivery van lost control and struck 10 vehicles, most of which were parked along the wharf. The van continued on its path of destruction, ultimately hitting two pedestrians.
The crash injured a total of six individuals, including the two pedestrians and occupants of a four-door sedan. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported all victims to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. Injuries ranged from minor to major in severity. The driver of the delivery van, who was reportedly suffering from a pre-existing medical condition, was also taken to Cottage Hospital after being interviewed by police at the scene.
As of now, no additional information has been released about the events leading to the accident or the conditions of those injured. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
