SUV Towing Pickup Truck Overturns in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 57 Freeway in Fullerton
Fullerton, CA – May 28, 2025 – A major traffic collision involving multiple vehicles, including an SUV towing a pickup truck, left two people injured and caused significant disruption late Wednesday night on the southbound 57 Freeway in Fullerton. The crash occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m., just past the Chapman Avenue exit. According to the California Highway Patrol and Fullerton Fire Department, responding units arrived to find a chaotic scene with debris strewn across the freeway and two overturned vehicles—an SUV and a pickup truck it had been towing on a trailer. In addition to the overturned vehicles, three other vehicles were involved in the collision. First responders worked quickly to assess and treat the injured, with at least two individuals transported by AMR to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time . Due to the debris and overturned vehicles, all southbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed except for one, creating a significant traffic backup in the area. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident. The California Highway Patrol, Santa Ana office, is currently investigating the incident to understand how the crash occurred and whether speed, mechanical failure, or driver error played a role.
