Three Shot, Two Killed in South Los Angeles Alleyway Shooting
South Los Angeles, CA, May 23, 2025 – A violent shooting left two people dead and a third wounded Saturday evening in South Los Angeles, prompting a large police response including K-9 units and SWAT. The incident unfolded around 6:30 p.m. on May 24, 2025, near the intersection of Dalton Avenue and Florence Avenue. Authorities say two suspects arrived in a silver SUV, which was later found crashed into a parked car on Halldale Avenue, just south of Florence. Three individuals were shot in the incident. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene in an alley off Dalton Avenue, adjacent to Florence. A female victim sustained a gunshot wound to her arm and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to reports, the suspects—described as two Black males, one believed to be as young as 12 years old—were armed and fled the area on foot. One suspect was spotted by an air unit as law enforcement, including K-9 teams, coordinated a ground search. SWAT also responded to assist in the manhunt.
