Two Sisters and Infant Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on SR-60 in Pomona
Pomona, CA – Authorities have identified the two sisters and an infant who tragically lost their lives in a wrong-way collision on State Route 60 in Pomona late Saturday night. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the victims were Jazmin Guadalupe Ramos, 29, Rachel Moreno, 39, and 1-year-old Ezra Aziel Espinoza . According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 11 p.m. on March 22 near Reservoir Stree t. Investigators determined that 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez, a Pomona resident, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he crashed head-on into a Honda Civic occupied by Ramos, Moreno, and the infant. Both sisters were pronounced dead at the scene, while Ezra succumbed to injuries days later . Rodriguez sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital before being arrested for driving under the influence.
