Woman and Boy Killed in Accident on Wildcat Road near Rancheria Creek Road in Shasta County
September 15, 2025 – Shasta County, CA: A woman and a young boy tragically lost their lives early Monday morning after a rollover crash in Shasta County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal accident occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Wildcat Road, just east of Rancheria Creek Road. Authorities reported that a 1992 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound when it veered off the roadway, went down an embankment, and came to rest on its right side against a tree. All three occupants of the vehicle were ejected during the crash. Sadly, the woman and boy were pronounced deceased at the scene. The third occupant sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. CHP officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, including whether speed, fatigue, or other factors played a role.
