San Diego, CA (October 25, 2025) – A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in the Chollas Creek neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday evening, when a 6-year-old boy was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision, according to the San Diego Police Department. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of University Avenue and 54th Street, where the young child was reportedly crossing the road when a vehicle struck him and fled without stopping. Emergency responders arrived quickly and performed CPR while transporting the boy to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Juan Villegas Martinez Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Van Nuys Boulevard in Pacoima
A tragic hit-and-run collision early Sunday evening in the Pacoima neighborhood claimed the life of 53-year-old Juan Villegas Martinez. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Martinez was struck by a white 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling southbound on Van Nuys Boulevard near Ralston Avenue around 10:00 p.m. The pickup reportedly fled the scene immediately after impact. First responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Martinez dead. The LAPD’s Traffic Investigation Division has identified the suspect vehicle via surveillance footage and has launched a search, with a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction
