The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the crash around 11 p.m. at the intersection of East California Avenue and Union Avenue. According to authorities, a Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on East California Avenue with a green light when it was struck by a northbound BMW that failed to stop at a red light . The force of the impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
