Bakersfield, CA, September 20, 2025 – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified 66-year-old Susan Julian Grande and her husband, 76-year-old Napoleon Frayna Grande, as the victims of a fatal crash in Bakersfield on Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 11:44 a.m. on September 20 at the intersection of Highway 65 and Famoso Road . According to the California Highway Patrol, Napoleon Grande was driving a 2016 Honda Fit eastbound on Famoso Road when he collided with a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling southbound on Highway 65.

September 17, 2025 – Bakersfield, CA – Authorities confirmed that Susan Grande, 54, was killed in a deadly crash at the intersection of Highway 65 and Famoso Road in Bakersfield on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred around 7:20 p.m. when two vehicles collided under circumstances still under investigation. Emergency crews responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Grande succumbed to her injuries. No other serious injuries were immediately reported. CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether speed or impairment were factors.
