Hesperia, CA, September 20, 2025 – Authorities say two women riding a scooter were struck and injured by a vehicle Saturday night in Hesperia. The collision happened around 7:25 p.m. on September 20 in the 11800 block of Pinon Avenue. An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were traveling on a scooter when they were hit by a silver 2011 Kia Optima. One victim sustained critical injuries, was taken to Desert Valley Hospital, and later airlifted to an out-of-area trauma center. The second woman suffered unspecified injuries and was transported by ground ambulance.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman were riding a scooter when they were hit by a silver 2011 Kia Optima. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials have not confirmed the severity of their conditions. The crash remains under investigation, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
