A multi-vehicle collision on the southbound I-5 Freeway near Washington Boulevard claimed one life on Wednesday at approximately 12:55 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred on the Santa Ana (I-5) Freeway just south of the Washington Boulevard exit in Commerce. The crash involved multiple vehicles and reportedly one vehicle overturned, though the CHP has not confirmed the exact number of overturned vehicles.
All southbound lanes were initially shut down as authorities responded and began an investigation. A SigAlert was issued, and traffic remained disrupted until approximately 4:50 p.m., when all lanes were reopened following cleanup and investigation efforts.
