Bakersfield, CA – August 8, 2025 – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the two victims who tragically lost their lives in a late-night crash on Highway 99. Alexes Napoleon Perez Rivera, 20, and Samuel Ignacio Hernandez Cervantes, 20, both of Bakersfield, were killed when Rivera’s southbound vehicle veered off the roadway north of Union Avenue, striking a guardrail. The force of the collision ejected Cervantes, one of three passengers. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the deadly accident.
