1 Killed, 3 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 65 in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, CA, July 6, 2025 – A two-vehicle collision on Highway 65 claimed one life and left three others injured Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 7:23 p.m. on July 6, 2025, on Highway 65 just north of Minneola Avenue. CHP investigators reported that a 55-year-old man was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna southbound behind a 2005 Ford F-350 that was towing a two-axle trailer. In an attempt to pass the Ford, the Toyota driver moved into the northbound lane. Upon seeing oncoming traffic, he swerved back into the southbound lane but clipped the front left of the Ford in the process. The impact caused the Toyota Sienna to overturn, ejecting a passenger who was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of those involved have not yet been released. Three additional people were injured in the crash and received medical attention. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
