Newark, CA – August 31, 2025 – Five people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Newark on Sunday night, authorities confirmed. According to the Newark Police Department, the collision occurred at about 10:35 p.m. at Cedar Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue. A sedan and an SUV collided, and the force of the impact caused the sedan to crash into a nearby home.The driver of the sedan and two passengers in the SUV sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. The driver of the SUV and a resident of the home suffered minor injuries and were also hospitalized. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
